Happy 'Canada Day' to our Canadian customers and designers!
July 1st marks the official date in which Canada's colonies were united as a single federation in 1867. While there will be lots of flag-waving and national pride on display, for some provinces such as the French-speaking province of Quebec, Canada Day is better known as 'moving day'. In the capital Montreal many of the city's apartment leases expire so moving trucks are a common sight!

So how does the rest of the world view Canada? The world's biggest search engine company published a themed 'Google doodle' on the Google.ca page. The graphic focused on the Canada's vast wilderness assets. Other interpretations could include the country's cultural diversity, French influence or love of ice hockey.
In the time since Canada was united, the country has entered the top ten trading nations and is one of the wealthiest nations in the world. Rich in natural resources and with a growing technology sector, a love for various sports and some of the English restraint left in the country's sense of design, it makes for some interesting logos.
